The photo exposition Dutch Soldiers in Korea – Stories from the front line can be seen in the Atrium of the City Hall from April 7th until May 5th. This year marks the 73rd anniversary of the Korean War Armistice Agreement. The Netherlands dispatched a total of 4,748 troops to the Korean War and they fought together for Korea’s freedom and peace. Thanks to their noble sacrifices, the Republic of Korea, also known as South Korea, was able to protect its freedom, regain peace, and achieve remarkable growth.
In this exposition, visitors can see portraits of eight veterans who participated in the war. Through QR codes, visitors can see and listen to interviews with the veterans who tell about their experiences in Korea.
The photo exposition is hosted by Atrium City Hall and organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Netherlands, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vereniging Oud Korea Strijders (V.O.K.S.).
