The Hague faces societal challenges. The city is growing. This brings numerous challenges in areas such as the energy transition, mobility and accessibility, and safety in the city.
New (technological) innovations can offer the city smart solutions. This makes a city a Smart City.
On the boulevard of Scheveningen, the City of The Hague and the Province of South-Holland experiment with new digital innovations in Living Lab Scheveningen. The Living Lab is all about learning and experimenting. With digital innovations, but also with communication and participation. How do we make dilemma’s related to the digitalisation of public spaces interesting, meaningful, and experiential for new generations?
Our answer: Smart@Sea!
During a small-scale festival consisting of multiple days, we explore both the possibilities and boundaries as well as the sense and non-sense of Smart Cities, together with students, scholars and young professionals.
From September 3 until September 27 until 4PM you can experience the Smart@Sea festival during the exhibition at the Atrium City Hall. Here, you’ll learn more about the approach of the municipality and the province, gain insights from younger generations based on past Smart@Sea editions, and as a visitor, you’ll also be an (anonymous) part of an (visitors) experiment.
