In 1982, The Hague got its own Archeology department, then still part of the municipal secretariat Department of VOM (Traffic, Public Works, Monument Care). Today, the department falls under the City Management Department of the Municipality of The Hague.

Over the past 40 years, hundreds of thousands of finds have been extracted from the ground, from wall tiles to Roman landmarks. These finds have been carefully restored and preserved. In all those years many special people were involved in the Archeology department. They had their picture taken with their favorite find for this exhibition which can be seen from October 17 until November 18, 2022 in the Atrium of the City Hall.
