You can visit a photo exhibition in Zuiderpark and Kijkduin that features women of The Hague on bicycles by photographer Valerie Kuypers. Until August 30 – 4PM this exhibition will also be displayed in the Atrium City Hall. To promote the Tour de France Femmes, the world’s largest cycling race for women, which will start in the Netherlands for the first time. On Monday, August 12, the finish of the first stage of the Tour de France Femmes will be in Kijkduin.
The photo exhibition includes images of Mien van Bree from The Hague, a true pioneer who put women’s cycling on the map. She represents the cycling history of The Hague. Other portraits show powerful women from The Hague today on bicycles. From a young cycling talent to a woman who regained mobility thanks to an adapted bike. And from a voluntary cycling ambassador to a woman dedicated to promoting women’s cycling. Beautiful portraits and powerful quotes illustrate what cycling means to them.
